The Scottish Crofting Federation is delighted at the appointment of Andrew Thin as the new Chair of the Crofting Commission.
This is a challenging time for crofting, with so many changes ahead in terms of agricultural policy, land reform and crofting law reform, all of which will have an impact on individual crofters and crofting communities. How the Crofting Commission navigates these changes will be crucial for the future direction and resilience of crofting.
Jonathan Hedges, Chair of the SCF, says “We were pleased that Andrew Thin attended several of the Scottish Crofting Federation’s roadshow events last Autumn to join us in listening to crofters’ concerns. We have every faith that he will bring the insight gained from this experience to the role of Crofting Commission Chair.”
