A small family run organic croft nestled beneath the iron age hill fort of Knockfarrel growing fresh healthy food for local customers. Choose from a wide range of veg, free range eggs, preserves, cordials, sausages, bacon, ham and pestos. Local deliveries and produce markets.
02 Tolliecroft
A small but highly productive croft at Tollie in the heart of Brahan, producing seasonal vegetables, fruit, free range pork and lamb which are sold in the local area.
Shetland sheep and chickens raised on Tigh na Allt croft based just outside Ullapool. Mutton and eggs sold locally.
Handmade soap and balms with foraged botanicals, croft raised goats’ milk & honey. Based in Rogart.
Based outside Banavie, Fort William, Marian and Andy produce organic fruit and vegetables, jams, cakes, ice-creams and cordials. Produce is available through the Food Lochaber food hub and in local shops.
A collective of small-scale producers in the Lochaber area, including several crofters, who sell through a fortnightly food hub. Produce varies according to the season. Croft-grown produce includes beef, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables, and preserves.
Home of Phil Knott’s Drumfearn Trees, growing native trees from locally collected seed and apple trees from croft-grown stock. Meanwhile, Laura creates beautiful baskets from croft-grown willow.
Al and Aurore in Skerray, on the north coast of Scotland, offer a wide array of products from their croft, including baskets from croft-grown willow, charcoal and woodcrafts, a native tree nursery, and eggs.
09 Maikle Tea
Linda has been producing single estate green tea from her own croft-grown Camellia sinensis (tea plant) near Invershin in Sutherland. While currently on hold, Maikle Tea hopes to be in production again in the not too distant future.
10 Tulloch Tea
All grown on her croft on the shores of Loch Migdale, Lucy produces her own blend herbal teas alongside black tea that is processed and blended with other small producer teas through Tea Scotland.
11 Tea Ness
Launching soon – organic herbal teas grown on a croft in Ness in the Isle of Lewis.
An informal cooperative of crofters from Lewis and Harris, committed to raising sheep and cattle in the traditional extensive ways of the islands. Meat boxes delivered locally and throughout mainland UK.
On their croft near Grantown on Spey, Lynn and Sandra work the land regeneratively, producing eggs, beef, pork and honey sold locally through deliveries and an honesty shop.
Beef from Shetland cows, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables, and a wide variety of preserves, all produced on the croft and sold locally by Alex and Lenice. Their son, Trent, sells burgers and sausages from the croft beef in his “Off the Croft” takeaway van.
From their croft in Pairc, Isle of Lewis, Izzy and David breed and sell native Pedigree Soay Sheep to try to conserve the breed. They have surplus seasonal produce at times to sell from their honesty box.

A thriving market garden on the Isle of Lewis. John and family sell fresh fruit, vegetables and preserves through various local outlets.
17 The Croft
Sally’s family croft is in Keiss, on the East Coast of Caithness where Irish Moiled Cattle and Cheviot Hill sheep are reared. Beef and lamb meat boxes and eggs are available for local collection and sell, as well as candles made from tallow.
In Elphin, north of Ullapool, Helen grows and sells mutton, raw wool, yarn, sheepskins, hen eggs, vegetables and fruit. Her produce is sold through the Green Bowl food hub that she set up with Tessa from Elphin Larder.
19 Green Bowl
Run from the Elphin tea rooms, the Green Bowl food hub delivers fortnightly with a huge range of produce from local crofters and other small producers, including beef, pork and mutton, fresh fruit and vegetables, and honey.
Tessa is a crofter, butcher and baker in Elphin, Assynt. She breeds and raises traditional breed cows and pigs producing ethical, low impact beef and pork, sold locally through the Green Bowl and local markets.
A family croft for 150 years, Skye Free Range was established in 2012 to raise table birds for local sale. Free Range chicken, Shetland beef and Cheviot x lamb are all produced on the croft and sold through an on-croft shop and at local markets.
22 Robson & Murdie Skye Local Produce
Asparagus, strawberries and tomatoes grown on the croft in Galtrigill, north-west Skye, and sold through Glendale Shop and Post Office.
23 West Coast Organics, Roag, Skye
Anna and Hanno established their croft market garden in 2015 and grow produce for local veg boxes, available for collection in Roag or delivered to collection points in Broadford and Portree.
24 Dun Flashadder Croft, Edinbane, Skye
New entrants raising Hebridean sheep and rare breed Mangalitza pigs on their croft in Skye. From their livestock, they produce and sell slow grown hogget and pork in their local area. They also offer felted items and felting workshops.
25 Long Island Retreats & Larder, Tigh na Breacain, South Uist.
Lyndsay and DJ rear Aberdeen Angus, Beef Shorthorn, and Highland Cattle, alongside North Country Cheviots crossed with Texel, and a few large black pigs. They sell their lamb, hogget, mutton, beef and pork through local meat boxes.
Small but perfectly formed croft! Hen eggs and seasonal produce all from the croft and sold locally.
27 Hill Croft, Lybster, Caithness
Duck, chicken, turkey and pullet eggs, potted plants (tomatoes, herbs etc.), seasonal fruit, vegetables and fresh herbs. All produced on the croft and sold through a wee honesty shop.
28 Rawnhallan Croft, Occumster
A wide range of fruit and veg grown on the croft. Fresh produce and preserves sold locally, depending on what is available through the season. Sally also runs courses on the croft to encourage other folk to grow their own!

31 The Silly Sheep Fibre Company
Based in Walls, Shetland. Becky produces knitting yarns, fibre and fleeces from the sheep on the croft.
A wild and windy croft in Sandness, Shetland, where a huge range of vegetables are grown, despite the tough conditions. Growing is supported by volunteers in exchange for produce. Surplus is sold locally though the on-croft honesty shop, Scoop wholefoods, Lerwick and the Eid Community Coop, Aith
Traditional crofting meets a modern approach to offering local food. The Croft to Kitchen experience starts with a tour of the croft, maybe picking ingredients along the way, followed by a gourmet meal created by a professional chef and using croft meat and seasonal veg, along with other local produce.
34 The Woodland Crofter, Langamull
Andy Robinson, AKA The Woodland Crofter, has a native tree nursery, growing and supplying thousands of cell grown saplings every year from his croft in north west Mull.
Arran and Leen are new entrant crofters with big ambitions – this year they launch their market garden with vegetable boxes for local delivery in Mull. They are also starting to grow willow on the croft for Leen’s basket-making.
36 Culburnie Croft, Kiltarlity
Culburnie Croft produce and sell quality free-range Soay hogget and mutton, Cheviot X hogget and mutton, free-range eggs and honey. Eggs are available at the croft’s honesty box. Honey and Meat boxes can be bought at a local market or ordered online and collected or delivered.
A range of beautiful flowers are grown and sold on-croft and for local delivery. Rhubarb is produced for a local ice cream maker!
38 Orkney Boreray Co-operative
A co-operative of crofters and farmers in Orkney who raise heritage Orkney Boreray sheep for meat, wool and horn products. They commit to high welfare standards, regenerative agriculture and responsible flock management to protect the lineage of the breed. Currently. the meat is only available from Macbeth’s Butcher in Forres for UK mainland delivery.
