Crofting Federation ‘cautious welcome’ for new sea eagle scheme

Scottish Crofting Federation (SCF) has given a cautious welcome to the Scottish Government’s new sea eagle management scheme. The scheme will run for three years and will investigate all issues involving sea eagle impacts on livestock. Local stakeholder groups across the range of the species, including SCF representatives, will oversee and monitor the working of the scheme; and contractors employed by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) will assist crofters and farmers experiencing predation problems with sea eagles.
