The project was piloted from January 2015 – May 2016, funded by grant aid from The Prince’s Countryside Fund to roll out a project similar to the Foundation for Common Land Hill Farming Training Scheme that ran in England between 2012 and 2014. In Scotland, areas where common grazing’s play a significant part of the farm/croft economy were targeted. The overall objectives of the training were to enable conservation professionals to update their knowledge of common grazing management its role in the overall economy of hill far; and provide opportunities for genuine dialogue between the professionals and hill farmers/crofters
