ACCESS TO CROFTING TOOLKIT COURSES

A classroom-based introduction to Scottish agriculture directly related to crofters and smallholders. Peer to peer support and a face to face training weekend with industry experts to give you a step up to starting out in crofting, taking on a croft or just to update your knowledge.

All our Access to Crofting Toolkit Courses cost £70 per person.

  • STRATHPEFFER - Community Centre, Strathpeffer: 2 day course, September 2018. FULLY BOOKED
  • MORAY - The Station Hotel, Rothes: 2 day course, 17th and 18th November 2018. FULLY BOOKED

BITESIZE SKILLS COURSES

A hands-on range of one day bite-sized skills courses for the croft, from fencing to fleece and everything in between, across the Highlands and Islands.

SHETLAND: Cost: £40 per person unless otherwise stated.

  • Strained Wire Fencing: Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July 2018, Turriefield Croft, Sandness, Shetland. These are two stand alone courses or you can book both days and reinforce your skills on the second day under the tutor’s guidance (£40 for one day/£80 for two days)

EASTER ROSS: Cost: £40 per person unless otherwise stated.

  • Introduction to Shearing: Saturday 14th July 18, Tain. One day introduction to machine shearing. FULLY BOOKED

WESTER ROSS: Cost: £40 per person unless otherwise stated.

  • Introduction to Shearing: Saturday 21st July 18, Ullapool. One day introduction to machine shearing. FULLY BOOKED
  • Blade Shearing for Beginners: Friday 27th July 18, Ullapool. One day introduction to blade shearing. FULLY BOOKED
