News Release:  Scottish Crofting Federation welcomes Commission Convener

Wednesday, June 21, 2017

Chair of the SCF, Russell Smith, said, “We are very pleased that a Convener has now been appointed and that it is Rod Mackenzie, a well-kent and respected person. It was very heartening that a good proportion of the Commissioners stood up to be counted for the position of leader, and whilst all were very worthy the appointment made by the Cabinet Secretary is a wise one.

“There is much to be done in the role and in taking the Commission forward”, Mr Smith added, “and we look forward to working with Mr Mackenzie and his colleagues for the good of crofting, an aim that I know we all share”.
