Land Management in European Mountain Regions - Talk in Plockton -7.30 pm 28th March
The challenges facing small farmers in marginal areas across Europe are often remarkably similar but solutions to them differ widely. A talk in Plockton next Wednesday looks at initiatives being put in place in 10 mountainous regions across Europe, including Skye & Lochalsh, to protect traditional land management and ensure the viability of rural communities.

Monitor Croft - A meeting to explain the Concept - Sligachan - 20th March at 7.30pm
The monitor project is already underway in several parts of the country and is part of an initiative funded by Quality Meat Scotland and the Scottish Executive. The meeting will be addressed by a speaker from QMS, the farmer from the Oban monitor farm and local organisers from SAC.
