Committee of Inquiry on Crofting - Outer Hebrides - June 4th to 7th 2007

The Committee of Inquiry on Crofting is visiting the Outer Hebrides next week (Monday 4 June- Thursday 7 June 2007) as part of their Summer tour. The Committee will host four public meetings and are inviting everyone with an interest in the future of crofting communities to attend.

SCF Conference - Dingwall Football Stadium - 6th - 7th Sept 2007

The conference will take place on Thursday 6th and Friday 7th September at the Ross County Football Stadium, Dingwall. The theme will be crofting culture.As well as a varied panel of speakers and the annual dinner, a feature this year will be the first Angus MacRae Memorial Debate where two well-known personalities will debate the motion that ‘The regulation of crofting no longer serves a useful purpose’.

Angus Macrae Memorial Debate - Dingwall - 6th September

How do you honour the memory of the likes of the late Angus MacRae MBE? A respected and hugely influential figure in crofting circles whose repartee and wit was legendary. He was an exponent of gentlemanly debate and clearly loved the cut and thrust of a lively argument.
